LARGEST LONG HAUL NETWORK
In summer 2010 the Brussels Airport long haul network will be larger than it ever was, with 166 weekly departures. The previous most successful season was the summer of 2000 before Sabena disappeared. At that time the airport offered 155 weekly long haul departures.
A comparison by continent shows that
• North America is still slightly behind (88, versus 93 in 2000),
• Asia is significantly larger (34, versus 11 in 2000),
• Sub-Sahara Africa is almost equal (35, versus 36 in 2000),
• long haul leisure flights are still less developed (9, versus 15 in 2000).
It also clearly shows that there are still significant growth opportunities available.
